Site
The ideal House site is a larger block in a central location within easy walking distance to shops and services.
We have -in 2017- been allocated a leased site in Majara St. Bungendore in a convenient location near the Council chambers and Community Centre. This will keep ownership of the land in the community along with the allocation of $500,000 of Stronger Communities funding towards the project. Plans to accommodate twelve residents on this site required the inclusion of an upstairs level for the housekeeper, while maintaining ideal solar aspects for the resident units.

Visiting the site NSW Ministers John Barilaro (Member for Monaro) and John Ajaka (Minister for Ageing) announced another $10,000 towards the Abbeyfield project and met with several of the committee members.
Design
The House’s design has been finalised in consultation with Abbeyfield Australia based on the Abbeyfield Australia design specification for Abbeyfield Houses.
The Bungendore House will accommodate 12 residents plus the live-in Housekeeper.
Building & Construction
With the community element being a significant aspect of Abbeyfield houses, the committee will source as much input as possible from the local community.
